Mykolas Alekna from Lithuania achieved a remarkable milestone on Sunday by shattering the world discus record, becoming the inaugural athlete to exceed the 75-metre threshold.
The 22-year-old athlete recorded a throw of 75.56 metres during the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting held in Ramona, Oklahoma, surpassing his own previous world record by over a metre.
